When converting your MK1 to a O2A transmission. You need a speedometer cable conversion to work with the factory instrument cluster. This cable screws into the factory 02A speedometer sensor and then screws or plugs into the back of your cluster.

Cable comes with factory firewall grommets for your 02a/02j swapped MK1.

Choose fitment accordingly or email us with a photo of the back of your cluster so we can determine which is needed.

This is needed when doing a MK1 VR6 conversion running an 02A 5 speed transmission.

(thread on cluster end for North American Rabbits and clip on for German built MK1s)

This cable may also be used for your 02a / 02j trans swapped mk2. Wether you put an 02a vr6 trans or a corrado g60 trans or even an 02j pump duese TDI swap! This is the cable you need to make your stock mk2 cluster turn. Works only with 02a or 02j transmissions. 02m six speed cars require an electric converter.

This is a quality oem style cable with grommets. This will NOT be a direct replacement for corrado g60 owners. It may work but it has been shortened to fit better in the mk2 chassis.

Install Note – Grease the inner Cable with a silicone grease before installing!

Spin On Style Cluster

These cables screw into the top of your factory speedo gear shaft on the top of the transmission by the axle cups. You need to unscrew the electrical connector portion of that sensor and it will expose the threaded portion that you will thread our cable onto (see on the right side below).

Clip On Style Cluster

Install 02A style speedo sensor (on left) in the top of the trans. remove electrical portion and install our speedo cable.
